Fur wraps & soft pashminas is what you see every late fall & winter bride wearing on her wedding day, and although they are both stunning I knew I wanted something a bit different. I searched all over the internet & Etsy looking for something special. There were a few I liked, but nothing really embodied all the aspects I wanted.
That is when I approached Amanda from Love Lives Here with an idea. Love Lives Here is a Milwaukee based, woman owned, woman run design house with her expertise being in custom bridal gowns. I have worked with Amanda on a few different styled shoots including Ray & I's first ever styled shoot together where we posed as the Bride & Groom only a week into dating (but that is a story for another day!) so the Love Lives Here brand already held a special meaning to Ray & I. However, I knew she made incredible gowns but wasn't sure if she would be willing to tackle this smaller "bridal jacket" project with me.
After going back & forth via email, sending her some design inspiration, explaining my unique ideas & chatting through my wishlist, Amanda agreed to go on this journey with me & what came from it was the most STUNNING bridal jacket I have ever seen (obviously I am not biased at all).
My Wish List & The Process:
My wishlist entailed a sleek, timeless jacket with pearl sleeves to match my pearl veil. After taking initial measurements & creating the initial mockup of the jacket, I was able to come into the studio to try it on, make edits & completely customize it to my body type and dress style.
Lucky for me, Amanda shares a studio with my veil designer, Jaxie Bridal, who agreed to let us use her pearl material to create the sleeves of my jacket. Amanda then created the body of the jacket with a beautiful white suede that perfectly compliments my bridal gown.
The Final Product:
I am truly so in-love what we created together & was so honored when Amanda asked if I would give her my blessing to add the pearl jacket design to her bridal line.
